Wrapping my head around the marathon and stepping back in the ring has been daunting to say the least but at the same time quite exciting.
Training has been going quite well with the longer tempo runs and the extended interval sessions visualizing the marathon distance and effort it takes.
There is certainly a big difference between doing a fast 10km and transferring that over to the marathon. The workouts are quite similar, just longer and then there are the double workout days on my non formal workout days to increase quality milage.
Have been doing some refining to my goal events for fall. Unfortunately was not able to make the trip to Vancouver for the Eastside 10k due to other commitments but have been thinking about doing the National Marathon Championships in Toronto coming up on October 18th and as such will miss the first part of the XC season in preparation. So with that in mind the next event will be the Toronto marathon followed by the Golden Bear Open and then the National XC Championships in Kingston.
